I'd say it depends if it was designed from the outset as a soft top.
Anything with the roof cut off and a tent added is gay, anything designed to be a soft top only is not.
Not all cars look better with a hardtop fitted, look at the Z4 for example, the hardtop is terrible.

WANT!
I think the problem is most soft-tops just look better with the roof down so when the roof is up they look GASH...

Name ANY convertible, and I bet a hardtop version would look much better. Gauranteed.

Mk5 Escort. Hardtops look disgusting.
EDIT: Also, what about Jag E types?

I'd say the R8 Spyder and Gallardo Spyder are both better looking than their hard top variants.
I had several convertibles as company cars and I prefer them. It's great blasting along with the roof down.

Audi A4
Volvo
Saab 93
Any of the Ferrari Spyders
E-Type Jag
Lotus Elan (would look stupid as a hard top).

We used to have a MkII Golf Clipper, was pretty nice thinking back about it. They were based on the MkI..

If I lived in Scotland I wouldnt drive a convertible either tbh.
Anyway. My convertible is awesome, nothing like a nice sunny day driving around with the roof down whilst every other cunt is battering their air con trying to stay cool.
I drive a MK4 Astra btw.

Of course they are gay, Nath drives one.
But i'd still have a convertable. What is gay is people driving them around with the roof up on a sunny/warm day. I'd have it down all the time bar when its raining.
Heaters and hats for winter

Lend me some money oh rich master, I need a new car.
Agreed on the roof up when the sun is out though, baffles me.

Depends on the car.
A Lambo, Audi R8 spyder, BMW M3 etc. aren't gay. But something like a Mazda MX5 most definitely is.

An MX5 is a proper British sports car. It's a shame that it's made by the Japanese.

Agree, although this car is just an exception;
Wouldn't own one though, for the reasons above
