Ive got a bait boat, dont use it too often though but they do come in handy! If you go to some of the bigger lakes in France though you need a proper boat to get the bait in you need!

Two fifties caught in the space of 7 hours. Think the mirror was 51lb03 and the common was 51lb10

Filling it in at 120 yards. Can use a boat to bait up but you have to cast your rigs

That's Fairbrass' lake isn't it? I checked the rules out on the website and I'm sure it said strictly no alcohol. Sorry but if I'm going on a week long fishing holiday them I'm haying a few beers in the evening. Where do you fish in the UK Stu?

Yeah that's the one, really nice lake it is, been a few times now. Thats strange? Ive always been allowed alcohol when Ive been, granted Ive not been for two years so the rules may have changed? When I caught my first fifty at about midnight, Danny the baliff cracked the beers open and we drank til about 2 so its seems like a daft rule if it is?

I usually head down south if Im doing anymore than a couple of days. I like the Cemex waters, especially Sandhurst and if I dont plan to well I usually go to Linear which are nice waters apart from the crowds. Other than that Horshoe is a top lake. Up here is a bit grim for carp fishing I think but you've got Shakereley Mere, I used to do Capesthorne when it was on the Stoke ticket, Ive been Pilsworth a few times, Winterley Pool is ok (apart from the rats), Boundary water park is hard but has some good fish, theres a few really.....

How big was that?

I caught a perch years ago from a place called Roman Lakes near Stockport when I was livebaiting for Pike. Wish I would have weighed it now, it must have been 3lb+

perch is probably my favourite fish, even though i don't really fish for them now.

the biggest i've ever seen was when i took a non-fisherman mate with me and gave him a rod and he caught a whopper

I went down the canal with my then 8yr old sister and she caught a 2lb 6oz perch. Did feel like tying a brick to her ankle and pushing her in

Nice one! Big old perch that is!

Ive started doing a bit of fly fishing me recently too! Just because you can go for just a few hours and get a few, catching them on the dry fly is pretty exciting too and they fight like demons! Still cant bring myself to kill one and eat it tho!

I did get back into fishing last year and have been pretty much every weekend (even when everywhere was frozen over )

Done a week catching bream on the norfolk broads and a week in Holland catching (more, but bigger) bream.

Went for a rare river session last weekend to try for a barbel and ended up with two, one at 6lbs and this one just under eight.

Awesome fish, they go like crazy.

Biggest carp I've had in the past 12 months is 9lbs, on proper carp gear too so it wasn't much fun to haul in. Found a nice 'easy' commercial though near me and have had a few to 7lbs on light feeder tackle, so hoping for a double there sooner or later.
