i think it's just a pin holding it in, so you might need to break that, open it then buy a new pin.
my brother did that on his corsa.

Looks like it is coming along! I fancy trying a repair on my car. Are you going to use a compressor to paint it?

nah, just going to use rattle cans and have a practice trying to blend paintwork with the polisher etc

what do you reckon might be up with it?
i haven't spent much, £150 buying it, and about £30-40 on the brakes.
the sills have a bit of surface rust on them, doesn't seem to be any major rot anywhere that i can see.
engine starts well, i think there is a little air leak around throttle body so will take that off and refit it.
interior is nice and clean and smells fresh still.
i can't see anything major being picked up on MOT that would put me off fixing it.
its a lot better than the fiat i had last year and i got 15,000miles out of that

also the cleaning and fixing arch has been quite fun for me, no risk involved so ideal for practice.
i even held the polisher in one spot on the bonnet and pushed it really hard just to see

i took a spark plug out yesterday and the tip of it wasn't like any i've seen before, normally they are flat and round like a lighter flint, these were tiny and like the tip of a pencil, like nothing there
is that a major worn spark plug?
i'll get a pic later

Most probably a platinum plug as they are like that. Would start with a p if it's an Ngk plug.

got the new plugs and you are right they are platinum and meant to look like that, replaced them anyway
paint isn't going too well, i had this problem before, the paint looks great when wet, but as it dries it kinda goes white/grey, not tried the laquer over it yet
^^ might just give it a light coat of paint then laquer as i'm getting bored now
big hole in front bumper to fix
taped over it and P40'd from the back, so it sits hellaflush on front edge

if you will be getting the tape off you should have used masking tape.
