i just openned the isa to save up in mate, no debit card for it makes me less likely to spend anything i save. Ive come a very long way in terms of looking after my cash over the past 6 months. I used to waste every penny i had. the 12 k loan was to pay of a 5k remainer and get the golf and wasted a shit load too.

my plan atm is ferrari on the back burner. sell cupra for around 3.5k? buy a shed for a couple hundred benk and insure third party only. then save save save and settle the loan before next christmas

Don't even know tbh, my pay differs every month depending what overtime I do. All I know is my car costs me a bomb, but I'd rather do it now whilst I'm still at home and I can afford too. The problem for me isn't so much running the car (although that's bad enough with fuel, tax etc) it's me not being able to leave it standard and always wanting to buy things for it, which I can see you having the same problem with Steve!

I pay £140 out per month, my wage isn't fantastic but I'm left with around £300-400 on a good 4 weeks wage.

i was a fucking tard and got a 12k loan and wasted most of it so im paying 280 a month for that for the next 3 fucking years. 25 for phone. 15 for contacts. will be around 80 a month for insurance come october... so i will have about 400 per month disposable as i live with my mam and dad and the mrs being on 1500 a month after tax and paying out less than i do living here too has said she will pay my board which is only 100 any way. my petrol comes out of the 400 which is about 100 a month too.

I am seriously thinking of selling the cupra and sticking the cash in my isa. wouldnt mind saving up and paying my loan off early as its like a noose around my neck. I wouldnt ever get another loan/financh again. Ive only recently sorted myself out after going mad. paid 2.5 k over 3 credit cards off in the past 6 months and I cant tell you how good it feels that the next credit card statements i get will say 0.00 ,

so although i live at home and can afford my loan i still wouldnt recomend getting 1.

Dude, that's what happens when you get a loan that's equal to your yearly income At least it IS manageable though, as some people don't end up being able to afford it!

lol even i wasnt that stupid.... this is how it worked...

16 got a scooter on finance 80 pm over 3 years, was on 80 a week as a panel beater apprentice

17.5 traded ped in and got a 125 bike 120 pm over 3 years, was on 800 pm as a office junior by this point

18 dad bought me my first car in exchange for the bike, i continued to pay finance

19 got a 7k loan for the corsa c sri, on about 1000 a month after tax

20.5 got my 12k loan to settle finance and get the golf/waste a lot, was on 23k a year with my overtime as a powdercoater at this point so could easily afford it

company i worked went bust 4 months and i took the first job i got an interview for. work in a call centre on behalf of bt on 7.70 ph + bonus. id say probs end up on 19-20k a year....

I am taking the pay cut to 12k by personal choice to hopefully have a better job at the end of it.... i know i can afford it so might aswell before my situation stops me being able to do so...

I know I have quite a bit of debt left but paying my cards/tele off has shown me it can be done and given me the urge to continue paying stuff off.

My biggest problem is that ive had contract phones and laptops and cards ect on chucky since I was 16 and totally ignored my mam and dads advice....
while this mean I have a excellend credit rating due to never once missing a payment, it also means when I ask for a loan on a whim I get accepted

£200 loan per month
£100 insurance pm
£50 phone bill pm
£40 cleaning money (yes we have a cleaner ) pm
£12.50 Halifax fee (Ultimate reward count)

So about £600-£650 spare cash but fuel and food normally scoop that up

I work part time in retail around uni and typically take about £300/£400 per month at the moment. My only fixed outgoing is my phone bill luckily. I then save £100 a month for my car insurance etc and the rest I spend on what I want

Lame? I quite like my Boxster and my Megane..

Car's are a waste of money, I only buy cars if there is profit in them.
