one thing i dont really bother trying...is racing anythin in a straight line. I know the ATR's a little heavier than the DC2...but still, the car and engine just isnt designed to do it.

I can believe that an XE corsa will beat an ITR off the line tbh, as the engine is much better suited to a standing start and the drag, and the Power/Weight ratio is better in this situation. However, thats where it ends.
If it was between the two cars, i'd have a DC2 every day of the week.

I love driving my ATR, and the tegs are the same. They are just so rewarding to drive...and handle like nothing else of the same size! The chassis and suspension setup mean the car feels taught and predictable. The engine means you can go into a corner just off cam, and hit the apex with the power on, and come out with the 200bhp on tap. The lack of torque everyone takes the piss out of...mean that (along with the fantastic diffs you get as standard) there is rarely any understeer to contend with and you can just keep your foot in. There is nothing better on track or on some fantastic country roads (for the money).

So yea...maybe you did 'hammer' a DC2 off the line, but i guarantee he wasnt bothered...and when he found the interesting back road - all of a sudden, theres only one car to have.

yea the seats in the dc5 are one of the best...but then its the most focussed cars, so they are quite a bit deeper than the EP3 ones.

The seats in my ATR are a little deeper than johns though (same as the evo5/6's).

not my car btw - got no interior pics available.

you fool - to pull an extra 300kg and make some ground you will need alot more power

He probably had more than double the lb/ft at a much lower powerband and quite a bit more power. His Golf wasnt double the weight,so i see no reason as to why he would need alot more power when he has more than double the torque.

Torque pulls you along the road.

And just for the record,im not arguing DC2's arent awesome cars, because they are and are 1 of my all time favourite Honda.I will hopefully own 1 some day.Ive never been in a car that can take corners like these, was pretty unbelievable the way it handled.

BUT for outright pace, they arent as quick as they are made out to be.On paper they look fast, but on the road its a different story.

And on the road, there is also nothing in it between the UKDM and JDM model.I'll look out the video of my mates old 1 at Crail. The guy in the JDM had a better reaction off the line so very slightly edged away. After that,he didnt gain on it and the other didnt gain anymore distance.

yea...i was initially disappointed at the lack of standing start capability tbh.

Through 1st and 2nd, there's not enough gear to keep you in the power zone long enough. Until 3rd comes and you can hold the vtec on longer...

Although my exhaust is hammered - and that'll be affecting the car's ability. Still - the vauxhall/ford/bmw engines are more capable across the board in a drag.

First tank i achieved 32mpg, not that I'm really bothered by it as I didn't buy it for an economical run around.

You also don't have to give it death to get anyway fast. The standard mapping on these is head and shoulders above a UKDM EP3 so there is useable power low down.

Few interior pics for you

gotta get a start button on the go in mine though. defo a must tbh.

Yea i love it how i've still got usable power below 5800...one thing i've come to love about the h22 - doesnt have to rollocked to be enjoyed if i need to go easy on the juice for a week.

get a set of harnesses in there rob - change the car i found. Decent set of 4 points and the seats just make so much more sense. you can drive the car so much better then too - helped my pace no end, and i was still on standard suspension when i first got em.
