If it's just the once, surely it's an extra £30 odd quid? And if it's every month it'd add an extra £300 odd...I'm not understand how it put it up so much with those figures I'm thick as mince!
Some companies will actually calculate a different premium based on whether you pay monthly or in one hit.
Admiral love to do this.

It's Elephant (Same company as admiral and diamond etc) I'm with, but what are they basing this increase of premium on? I don't get it.

I've just realised i was robbed last night from EDF Said my electicity is around £60 a month, it's not, it happens to be around £52.
Little worried as the last 3 months i've not really be staying there and the dark nights are now in.

Sorry, dont have a clue
I just know that when i asked how much it would be monthly the premium changed much like yours and they just said it's because I would be paying in installments

It's probably 8.5% charge for paying monthly then x% apr on top as well

Might only get worse as they're being taken over iirc.

I feel like phoning back up an querying this It's times like this I wish I was either good at maths or knew someone who works for an insurance company! My renewal came back through at suspiciously a similiar amount as what they've changed it to. I can't find the letter to double check though. I got the better quote from diamond and they said they'd match it no problem, then I said I'd still be paying monthly "oh...well..."

If it was extra on top then it would come to a lot more than £515, at an extra 8.5% only over ten months it already comes to over that figure.
Saying that maths was never my strong point

I'm tied into a friggen 12 month contract with them.
It will get worse as i'm now in the place all the time. Gonna have to find myself a new bird, i'll be cheaper

I'm guessing it's just a one off charge and then APR is paid on the lot, so I think
£387 + 8.5% = £419.90
£420 + 59% APR = £515 (ish)
APR would be a lot if that was the case but not unheard of

Ah right yeah, if its 8.5% on a one off and some added apr on top then it would make sense.
