this is one of the things i cant get my head around, say they kept drilling all th way down the center of the earth, and dropped that capsule down what happnes when it comes out the other side? it cant fall out upwards because of gravity can it

somewhere in the middle something must happen, apart from it melting of course

Apparently the accelleration would carry it through to the other side although once it reached the middle it would be decellerating until it exited the other side, if you had a hole straight through the earth anyway, i think it was worked out to take 44 minutes aswel

Just watching the news footage of those poor people getting rescued. Great to see the smiles back on their grubby little faces and faint glimmers of hope in their otherwise poverished and mundane lives. I still hope Everton beat them on Sunday though
