Love oxblood leather!

I was looking at these before getting the E46, Insure was coming up crazy though so have passed it up for now. Heard nothing but good things about them provided they have been looked after.

Amazing cars for the money. I've had a few E36s and my mate has had a load of M3s, the speed of them definetly surprised me!

The red vaders in that one in the link look ace, i've always wanted a red set. Buy it and we can swap interiors, thank you lol

Brother sold his 1994 M3 coupe for 2k.Had about 160k on the clock,no history, arches had been replaced at some point(was a no bad job though)and it had been in a rear end smash.Boot floor was basically held together with what looked liked a shit load of tiger-seal.
Ran mint and drove 100% faultless.

It never 'felt' as quick as the Impreza, but it just kept pulling and pulling

I thought you'd say that Andy! I'm driving a V6 Audi A4 at the moment so used to a decent pulling motor but mine only has 170hp so 320 would be

I'll probably end up with the 3L single Vanos if money is more of an issue but my main mission is to get a proper looked after example that's had some money spent on it recently

Save up for the Evo, wider track, better engine and feel a lot newer than the older 3 litre ones. Also Evo's are a bit of an appreciating classic.

That's the other thing in my mind...the thing not losing money! Scoobys are so hard to sell and people are giving them away now

Would an Evo cost a lot more to buy then too??

Erm from the three varying examples I viewed two were dogs which were cheap. 3k. The decent one I viewed was clean but not perfect (bit of rust on rear arch) and that was £4200

The most important thing whether it be a 3.0 or a 3.2 it needs to be mechanically sound otherwise thats when they can be money pits. for example £500 more for a fully maintained one could save you thousands in the long run

Get on e30 coupe and read the buyers guide and a few project threads very eye opening stuff. Saying that though imprezzas when they go wrong can be costly too.

Clean ones with comprehensive history can cost over 6k as they are becoming quite collectable. Think if I was to buy one now it would be an Evo GT2.

Cheers for that Fad I'll take a look at those buyers guides now..

On the subject of fixing them.. With having 4 Scoobys I know them inside and out and parts an be cheap due to there being so many about. M'z though scare me to death with hard to change clutches and Vanos issues

Plenty of knowledgable indys (independnt BMW specialists) around now and plenty of tech support via their websites. You will find many of the memebers on there are pretty hands on.

Clutch is easier than on a scooby and also look up Dr Vanos. A chap will come to your house with exchange Vanos unit and fit it with new solenoids etc for a fraction of what main dealers want.

as said defo need respect, not a pussy car with all the driving aids all it has is abs, was going to be traction control but they put an lsd instead, as for clutch talking 350 odd quid its not that hard prop off, clutch line and bellhousing bolts but the top bolts are a cunt to get to, easier to undo the engine mounts and tilt it yo

FFS I had gotten away from the idea of an M3 until this thread came up Vanos issues with them seems as common as piston slap on Scoob's tbh.
