Sums it up iaz, cheers! That's another thing about the let in the Corsa, I think once I've got it fast I'll end up spending even more tryin to make it handle when I could just buy the clio

Think iaz hit the nail on the head there. I went on a trackday a few month back with a few mates, one in a 230bhp Leon cupra, one in a Impreza WRX with pristine pack. The 182 was even with the Leon on straights (both have run bang on even 1/4 mile times too) but I destroyed the Leon in corners, the Impreza was pulling away on straights, but was about even in the corners, I was bothers about having the least powered car of the lot but I had just as much, if not mor fun! Handling was outstanding! Also they go on three wheels in the corners which looks ace

its the weight of them that helps. Think mine weight about 1070kg standard. Removing sound deadning, spare wheel, std jack and tool box, rear wiper and motor, air con, replaced heater with a cup heater, to remove the resurilator for a/c. Id say mine is around or just under the 1000kg mark.

i just never liked the handling of that engine in the corsa c, no doubt u can make them handle ok! at the time i had both a van and corsa with a z20let, corsa had little more power at the time but i would much prefer to drive the van hard then the corsa, always was careful in the corsa cos never really felt confident in it!

clio u will enjoy and i feel it can prob improve anyone as a driver cos of its handling, a corsa with let engine will make u good at accelerating, braking for corners and wheel spin! hehe

i think having something like a let corsa would make you a better driver as you do more of the work in the corners, when i had my redtop b it wasn't on the best of suspention but in the corners it kept a few saxo's and generally better handling cars at bay

how would you do 'more of the work in the corners' having a corsa the clio has nothing helping it turn a corner though, just the fact its a better handling car.

excatly u keep beta cars at bay in the corners so u can get to a straight where u can get away!

unless the corsa with z20let has a diff or semi slicks or just standard power( which would not be much more then clio 172 anyway)..... pulling out of corners could result in wheel spin when turbo comes in so actually means coming out of corners slower then a lower power car that get the power down more efficently!

If I bought another it would have to be a 197, mine was immaculate with 11k miles and wouldn't find another 182 in as good condition. Looked at Trophys for a while but none were up to standard.

Imo yeah, i should be able to get a 54/05 182 with 40-60k on, would be Cat D, could have one bought and repaired for around £1500 max.

fuck CTR's

i went in a 200 the other day and was quite dissapointed with its straight line speed, handling and brakes were amazing though. Upped the bhp but added massive weight since the 197's
still would have one
jambo, have you seen the cross hatch stitch option on the 200 Absolute sex!

I'm still not entirely convinced you get value for money with the 200 considering the price over the 197 despite loving the styling, which most people don't seem to.

Mine pulled hard from 5k to the red line. Not a great deal before that though.

The 200 is supposed to be a revalation compared to the 197 according to Evo etc..
Personally i love the styling its bold and different. Striking in the flesh.

The leather is a £1200 option, availible in red or black leather. Ill see if i can upload some pics hang on....
