And its not because vauxhall didnt advertise the brand like ford did with the RS brand like total vauxhall slevered absolute shite about in this months issue

I thought that was an interesting way to look at it though.

I must admit Sierra Cosworths are one of my favourite cars ever though. Much prefer them over an Escort Cossie.

Almost, but not quite

One needs both really.

If I could have a nice, mint, one owner example of each i'd be a very happy boy for a long time.

Indeed, that would be silly. I would like one of each though Dan. The charms of the little french weirdo aren't lost on me.

2CVs are hilarious to drive, although if I really had to choose...

Because it's now a rare car that's in "high" demand with enthusiasts as most have been cannibalised or rotted/crashed

I don't see why a mint, low mileage, one owner example of the GSi or the 4x4 Turbo shouldn't be significantly more than 2.5k, especially considering how the numbers must have dwindled by now.

The same goes for the MK I GTE and MK II GSi Astras.

In exceptional condition, I would class these cars with anything of the same era and a little earlier value wise.

If a MK II Golf, or a Renault 5 Turbo, or an RS Turbo, or a Sapphire Cosworth is worth five to ten grand in cases then the same should apply to appropriate Novas, Astras and Cavaliers.

I saw a bloody Citroen CX Pallas up for 5k the other day for god's sake so I think the sky is the limit with anything that's spotless, interesting and getting a little long in the tooth.

Read the feature on these two the other day Nice photo location! Love that Cav too. Calibra is nice but I think I don't quite get as excited over a standard minter rather than a nicely modded minter.

TV did make a good point about the top spec Vauxhalls having different names over the ages, but imo it's not that severe a thing that it caused them to not be as iconic as RSs etc. It does make it more recognisable when they all have the same name though.

Ive not read the article but the popularity and iconic status comes from Fords motorsport heritage. Its nothing to do with names, sounds like TV are grasping at straws there!

Its some spot, huge bit of land with so many interesting areas, took the photographer a while to find th spot he wanted.

Me and a few mates headed down to it a few months ago in three Novas but the security guard wouldn't let us in cos he said he got into trouble the last time. Dont know if that was the time the Cav and Cali were down or not, but then again it could have just been cos we were in three Novas lol
