what davey said but id make a small plate behind the crack and where i drilled the holes i'd spot weld the plate to the back side and stitch weld the crack onto the plate behind from hole to hole
How would you get the plate at the back of the crack? Hasn't the B Pillar got an inside skin? Meaning you would have to get the plate behind that and it would be hard to weld in place.

I'm pretty sure you can get in their, dont hold me to this though. But you only need to hold it in position not weld from inside the car your going to be welding through the crack onto the plate if you get me

Coverd it up with blue paint, and sold it on, due to rot in the rear suspension legs

I get what you mean. But surely it will crack again as the plate isn't really welded in place and just held there through the crack.

You have a point there, the test station are not allowed to remove anything from the car for an MOT.

True. We had a very anal examiner where i used to work. When his rusty old rover was in for an Mot he taped all the rusty bits up and passed it

Thats to make the crack bigger so they can weld it, weld it. Then prep and paint the area so it blends in.
They said it definitely wont come back too, and there very very good, but hmm in two minds what to do.

I think thats expensive, considering i was quoted £250 to grind the rust off my boot, re-smooth it and re-spray it
