Just like Michael Palin travelling around the world, he doesn't just meet these people by chance, it has all being pre arranged. He too has a full crew behind him.
The supposed real car enthusiasts show that is Fifth Gear is believe it or not scripted.
Geez people.

the fact it was shit, had nothing to do with whether it was scripted. It was just a really boring episode.
The episode the other day in America was also scripted, but really enjoyable to watch.

As a Christian I was deeply offended by tonight's Top Gear where it was suggested that the the new 'Stig' was born in Israel.
The Stig is a fictional character dressed in white, whose entire history is nothing more than a load of ridiculous, made up stories and no one has ever actually seen him.
Whereas Jesus...

I thought it was an interesting episode, its their humour that make it appealing to me, how they irritate eachother etc, i think te best episode was the special where they started in the jungle and had toget to the coast. When they went into high altitude and were struggling to breathe/talk etc

Its been terrible for several seasons now -I still watch the odd episode if im bored - I really dont know what some of you find so funny about it. All this stig stuff is boring as hell and it has been from the start.
Im not against it carrying on - people seem to like it, but I would like one motoring show to be put on the BBC - Top gear isnt really that any more.
Clarkson, in a good car, on a good road with quality camera work - I like that. I like may reviewing more sensible cars too because he gets a kick out of the little things that other reviewers dont get.
The great shame is that all you get are stupid puns, crap challenges that are the same every time, the news(which doesnt contain any news) the celebrity interview which is just a chance for the celebrity to sell something, the cool wall ect ect etct.
Hammond is just terrible - full stop. I have to mute the tv everytime he comes on

All the moaners still watch, thats the best bit for TG, as despite people not liking it audience figures are still huge. So nothing will ever change

its good, its an entertainment show based around cars. just a shame its losing focus on the cars a bit more from time to time.
quite a few bits had me laughing especially the stig at the end that took me completely by suprise!
just wondering though wouldnt the burka thing be really offensive to the people in that country? and also how do they get away with that 2 pasport thing, would that not be illegal?

Bit where the spark plug "fell out" of the MX5 was a particular low point for me.
