I hope you realise that making that complaint will get that member of staff in a whole lot of trouble and more than likely be suspended when he next goes to work and given a final warning just because you said he was rude.

Let's be honest, if it does need calibrating it has nothing to do with the kiosk staff and maybe he was a bit ticked off as you will have made it sound like it was his fault.

I doubt he was rude. There is a difference in smirking away and giving full on abuse, but the management will always think the worse.

My Clio is pretty good on petrol and usually just stick a tenner in at a time. Ill get around 90 miles give or take everytime I put a tenner in. But there's always the odd occasion when ill randomly only get 60-65 miles.

I've questioned it once and they just said 'well we havent had any other complaints', oh that makes it OK then, not like you can do anything about it or proove it

see this doesnt instil much confidence in me, the fact they are relying on complaints to pick out flaws in the calibration of the pumps.

surely the response should be, well the pumps are calibrated x amount of times so they wont be out

I suppose you could always put the petrol in jugs, jerry cans or buckets and measure what you get that way before filling your car up?

I like my local Shell.

Used to be run by an Indian/Asian guy, very polite and chatty. Anyway, I hadn't seen him behind counter for a while and I later found out he chased a customer out of the store and beat him up

Always the quiet ones

But by filling up to £40.00 I'd have an extra Nectar point.

Fill up to £39.98, then when you get the inevitable overclick, it hits £40.00, not £40.01

To be fair whilst we are talking about a penny in this instant surely people can see what he is saying. I used to work in a petrol station when petrol was under the pound and I could never understand how people went over the penny, but now it's so easy to do because a penny gets you fuck all, so a little squeeze of the trigger and it goes up quickly!

The staff attitude stinks though.

I am tempted to go down to that petrol station next week and purchase £40.01 worth of petrol, and pay in one penny coins.

One i fill up seems to like winding me up by letting me get it to a round number then as i place it back in, jump to .01

Even tried doing it really carefully and it still happened. Fucking thing owes me about 32p worth of petrol.

That happened to me once as well. I think they should make the system here like in America where you have to pre-pay before filling up, when we were in the USA last year we paid by credit card and it was simple, just type in $15.00 or whatever ($15.00 gets you a fuck load of petrol there BTW ) and it would just fill up to that, none of this extra penny nonsense.

Would also discourage chavs from filling up and driving off without paying IMO.
