see i still see this sort of thing as theft really. i know the resposne will be "its tescos fault for fucking up their till systems"
but if i was to go out and nick a set of alloys and say it was the owners fault for not using locking nuts then id inevitably get slated to fuck.

Items were scanned, cash was exchanged. Thought it was strangely cheap.

I doubt people would bother trying to get TVs and Laptops etc, they won't get away with it, surely.

still, doesnt matter if its a laptop or a tenners worth of beer. its still stealing, and the attitude that its ok or doesnt matter is what contributes to the shit state this country is in.

It is a little preachy but in no way is it theft. Items are payed for and recorded for.

but not really, in doing it you know full well you havent paid for it and its wrong, hence having to go to self scan.

Anybody with the balls to put 200 melons and a tv through a self service checkout, fully deserves that tv.

I disagree, I went to a petrol station a while back, filled my car up which came to £46-something, went inside to pay and the guy asked for £10, assuming he'd heard me wrong I told him the pump number again and again he asked for £10. I told him I'd put £46's worth in, he had a bit of a play about with the till but it was showing £10 so that's all he could charge me. Have I therefore stolen £36's worth of fuel? It's the same principle apart from the people not questioning the lower price. The machine will only charge what it's set to charge, that's not the customer's fault.

Aren't melons a look up item? Just keep adding them in, no need for trolleys full of bright yellow fruit

The till might complain you've rung it in and not put it on the scales.
