see 996/997's daily in Aberdeen. LOADS of them.
Turbos daily, GT3 or reps daily - RS's not so, GT2's hard to tell from Turbo without looking closer.
R34's - not very often.
I dont really judge cars on how common they are they. Folk mention it with Imprezas alot. They are common for a reason! They are very good !
R34 GTR's are A LOT of money for a car thats 10 or so years old. They dont seem to have moved price wise but this could be down to JPN yen exchange rates keeping fresh imports out. Also worth noting that with the tipping over the 10yr means they wont require SVA'd/Model Report on import - just MOT/reg
prices may start to drop - just look at R32/R33's.
The good ones still command about 10k and 15k but you can get dogs for 5k and 7k
If we were to sell our R32 GTR i wouldnt take anything less than 20k for it.

They both won't lose much so you could even have a go of both for a bit.
Tracking whatever you buy now seems a more expensive route.
Although that prepped Porsche is proper.

yup, I think part of the attraction/fun of a new track car is the building and learning of the car.
Buying the 996 Cup Car would be immense but would leave me feeling a bit shallow I think. Ultimatly it would be about 4x cheaper to buy though
Plan A)
Buy a 996 TT for 1year, sell for a 34 GTR and use/swap/build it for a year into a track car. Year 3 - I want my feckin NSX
Fee needs to get an old Fiat 500 at somepoint to keep her happy too
I have a feeling I may find a 996 TT a bit to sedate and boring if standard Fire a nice spoiler, exhaust and some BBS LM's on and it should produce a

Na we dont hire anyone to 'run' the cars but our bills are getting bigger and bigger 10k on engine late 2009, about 8k on engine, diff etc late 2010 - then all the entry fee's, testdays, tyres, fuel etc - Must be over 20k a year to run the R32 GTR at the moment
Work - I do client QC/rep work for oil companies on seismic vessels. Specfically 4D, nav, positioning etc. Wages - not enough if you think long term. I've been in the industry for just short of 10years, and have spent 5 years out of the UK/away from home. I actually calculated that yesterday when looking at tax forms.
I'm currently doing another degree too, as I dont want to be spending so much time away from home BUT i dont want to take a drop in wages! Its a tough one!
