I can understand the focus though, its worth a lot more probably not much slower, more desirable to steal? I could insure it for less than that but that was just on a comparison site.

I paid £1200 for a 1.8 coupe for my girlfriend, its been fantastic - passed MOT first time etc.
Agree big time about the suspension, I fitted a full Eibach kit (shocks and springs) and its a revalation along with the 308mm turbo brakes, although I find the 1.8 needs revved to go anywhere, not particularly quick and not great on fuel. Still she is happy though.
I have noticed the prices do vary wildly though.

Im just going by what i get in my 2.2 hatch.
IIRC,the Mk4 Gsi is quite gutsy no matter how you drive it.And with the coupe being heavier, its gonna be a bit more thirsty.
Around town,i'm getting 29-30mpg,and on a run probably about 35-38mpg tops and thats just normal driving, taking it easy most of the time.
I reckon you would be struggling to get those figures from a coupe turbo.

My Gsi wasn't bad on fuel for what it was but it wouldn't have averaged 35 mpg.

I doubt it will be economical but it will be fucking blue motion compared to the Jeep
Seen a good vid of one lowered on some foreign rims with Vmax235 software. Goes alright. 14.8 1/4mile.

My Z20LER has averaged 24 while the 20k I've had the car.
Motorway at 50 returned 40.
They're not terrible, but not great either.

If your getting a coupe make sure it's one with a decent interior, that's what makes them a bit more special than the hatches IMO
