Thats kinda my thinking (not de-tuning it as that costs money to make it slower.... you cant just remove a cam, turbo etc )...

simly dont use it for a year = 10k or so

The car came from Shetland with a furry boot....
The car was stolen and returned by police....
It was on fire....
It won Time Attack....

I know what will happen though A 600bhp Impreza will just appear

The problem with trying to sell things like this is theattachement you have with it, its the same as some of the boats i sail on, one of them the guy build from the mould and he is a master carpenter so everything inside is spot on, other boats from the same time and same type are going for £40K but he wants £65K because he knows what work went into it and all of the hard work he has put in.
These things dont actuall add to the value of it though it is still the same style of boat from the same time.

Also its not really a Car that you are selling its a Race Team because that is what you need to run, like you say its not just a track car for jo blogs. Its all the background things that need to be considered.

i can see the amount of work in it and the spec is awesome but someone suggested 35k? i dont think you would get anywhere near 35k for it to be honest.

seeing the other one that sold would this one not sell for anywhere between 17-25k then?

I have 20k in my head.... i wouldnt really see the point in letting it go for peanuts. 35k is optimistic

Simply not using it saves money for house etc

i cant really see the logic in selling the spares whilst still having the car :S

Suspension perhaps - should get 1500 for that second hand.

I'm not giving 7.5k of my own money to climb a mountain for charity . We're paying to do it, and trying to raise money for charity as well.

baby - yes

anyway - if you have nothing constructive to add...

thats more 'usable' than ours :S

decent spec etc... but a bit wasted in a road car.

It has better bits than ours, we have better bits than it.

I'd like his gearbox for example! 5k or so.

Reading the spec reminded me of some bits missed off ours

Constructive - you said you want at least 20k, so put it at that starting price if you auction, start a bit higher if you want to try sell it non auction, sell the bits separate afterwards, if you're lucky you will get 30k, at least 25k.

thread revival - the car is doing some soor to door racing today. Practice session didnt go well yesterday and Fee caused her 1st red flag by stopping on track. Fuse to the fuel pump relay went exiting the chicane at KH. Hopefully some work last night will put that issue to bed.

Anyway - we've hardly used the car this year - simply havent had the time to enjoy it.

Its now MOT'd with 6months TAX
