Tbh a hybrid is probs going to give me a good compromise.
Can always chop it in against a roadie bike if I cahnge my mind.

As much as I do prefer the paint job on the tiagra synapse..
I don't know if I could overlook the 105 version.. 10sp instead of 9 and just generally a better quality group set.

If you've got an iPhone theres an app called sizemybike that tells you your size based on some measurements you enter.

I'm going to get measured in a shop I think as this is my first road bike. Can get advice etc and try a few bikes too.
But going to try getting my local bike shop to price match that web price, as they offer price match.
But they may not with it being a web price.

I bought my first road bike using the fit calculator above. I have also since bought a time trial bike again using that calculator and the fit has always been spot on.
Even if buying from a shop its worth using the calculator for reference. After all some shops would sell you whatever size they have in stock and tell you its correct

Yes it is but IMHO the more important measurement is the top tube length. This is the critical one on a road bike.

Bought the Cannondale Synapse Tiagra today. Pick it up next week.
They knocked £100 off it too, so got it for £749
They were willing to drop the Synapse 105 to £850 too after I showed them the web offer at £795, but I felt that a road noob on a £1000 bike was a bit stupid, and I preferred the white Tiagra frame lol.

Yeah got that far. Is left front cog right back cog?
Also, noticed that there was another lever integrated into the main brake/shifter?
What does this do?

I had a quick go on my mates and it is something like you said. But I cant be certain. I remember it being a bit tricky at first, but no doubts you get used to it.
