Commissioning & Service Engineer
Industrial & Power Combustion Equipment - Land based steam raising.
I like it, worldwide travel incurring extra pay, overtime for UK work, company car & fuel for both business & private use paid for, company phone for business & private use, fairly decent salary (bulked up by overtime/overseas work - pay can be basically doubled/tripled over a year with a fair workload), good holiday allowance, pension etc etc
Not sure what I'd rather do - a similar role within a different industry most likely

Im soon to start working for betfair as a software developer.
My last job was as a web developer but I wanted to use a lower level of programming language instead of just php.
Dream job: owner of a successful software house.

You seen the talk on LMAX? couple of their devs left to go create it and it really makes you realise how complex betfair must be / amount of real time matchings are happening at any moment.

2nd / 3rd Line IT Technician.
Seem to have lost all intrest at the moment. Need to sit down and have words with myself.
Wouldnt mind getting into buying and renting property but can be risky. Again, need to have words with myself over my spending habits.

Yeah they mentioned that they are proud of their average 7 million transactions a day. Which is crazy, their systems are all java based so Im very curious to how it all works. Their hardware is also spot on, so will be good to work with such equipment and resources.

Currently mechanical engineer in oil and gas sector.
Would rather work in motorsport if I'm honest but realistically I'll be here until the North Sea is dry.

I'm a radiology and radiotherapy maintenance technician, specialising in linear accelerators. I wanted to continue with my IT career (was previously a computer engineer for Renault) before I got this job...
Ultimately though I'd love to run my own bar/club/pub focusing on underground music.

Assistant mechanical engineer at a building services consultancy, so essentially a cad man. Was on £12.2k but as of last month on £13.2k which sees an extra £56 in my account each month. Can't stand anyone at my company other than about 4 people and despise sitting in a chair all day on Autocad so am desperate to get out. Will literally take basically anything.
To be completely honest i had considered becoming a self employed valeter (cue trim polish jokes) but there's no way i could work 7 days a week like Rich does.

I'm a health trainer which involves working with people to help them live healthier, through stopping smoking, healthier eating, increasing physical activity, that kind of thing. It's ok I don't hate it and it is rewarding sometimes, plus its flexi time and I'm not stuck in an office. The best part of it is a group we have set up at barnsley football club called fit reds, for men over 35s, we do a some classroom work around nutrition the an exercise part after, they absolutely love it, some of the football moments when they play are class! We had a full 11 a side on oakwell at the end of the season before the pitch got ripped up, it was quality. It's 8 weeks long, 3 groups have been wi roughly 16 finishing each and they've lost 32 stone altogether, which is good as not all are massive its also for people feeling unfit. If link is still up for first dvd we made ill post it on here if anyone is interested.
