I don't know if you like to work on cars yourself, but thats where the love of cars is to be found imo.
of course everyone wants the newish fastest thing, but when you get there i would say most people aren't as satisfyed as they thought they would be.
you've hit on something there
i sold the m3 as i wanted a car i could tinker with, repaint etc

I reckon I spend half my daily wages on running/modifying my car, but then I live at home and it's my hobby if you like, so not just a mode of transport like a car is too many people
I can see why you sold it Stu, mine costs me a fortune to run and if I wasn't using it I would sell it straight away, house is much better to put money into
A couple of years ago I was exactly the same and was for the ten years before that too, I would have scrimped on everything just to have a nice car so I know exactly where you and loads others are coming from. There's no right or wrong when it comes to stuff like this, you just do what you have got to do.
Im kind of gutted really, it feels like the end of an era to me! I think I will have fast cars again in the future maybe?

audi quattro
E30 M3
Lancia Intergrale
although probably already gone up in value tbh.
mk2 golf gti in oak green
Thats a rather naieve assumption! No car is really a (long term) investment they all require maintaining and serving to retain their value EVEN if you dont drive them PLUS you will need to insure it, again.. EVEN if you dont drive it! And finally you need to store it somewhere.. You can stick it in your garage but its still essentially a costs as you are paying for that garage.

Front springs are a weakness on the 9-3 and as Saab are currently between suppliers, there is zero stock to pick from and even pattern parts are not fitting correctly.
We have various 9-3 off the road for atleast 8 weeks now.

A lad at work has a Saab 93 estate, Thats a 1.9 tid, In the last 18months its had a new egr valve, particulate filter and a new set of keys after they decided to pack up and not let him in the car.
Make sure you have a pull out key in the fob, The dealers want £90 just for that!

Think he payed around £350 to have the egr and particle filter sorted out at the dealers, It kept going into limp mode. Luckily his keys were covered under warranty as he only had it a few weeks when they decided to pack in.
