If your going for a vectra why not the design model much more gadgets like auto lights wipers and loads more. Then add the Sri wheels and spoiler?
I've just been through what model to buy and was keen on an Sri till I realised they are not very well spec'd
Elite is the spec to have, leather, nav, cruise etc
Whats the elite got that the design hasn't? Cause its got all them things?
Id rather buy the car with all the electrics etc and add the wheels and bumper bits, cheaper way of getting a better spec

no it hasnt, the Design has Half leather, doesnt have Nav (unless you find one that had it as an optional extra) doesnt have heated seats, 16inch alloys on the Design, 17inch alloys on the Elite, design doesnt have the alloy handles....want me to go on?
as for being cheaper, if your smart you can pick up an elite thats already fully loaded for the same price as an SRI, so your probably going to spend more in the long run buying the extras.

Yea the design has half leather. They do a design nav. What else does the elite have? As the heated seats and an inch bigger alloys dont tempt me in for the extra $

if you look around, you can get the Elite spec, cheaper than a design, so your not saving anything by getting a design

the only thing is it needs to be a place that does finance. i don't need an estate as i don't have kids or 40 dogs. a van isn't out of the question though.

The Elite seats are flatter but for spec that is the one to go for.

E class is a good shout if you want to point it to drive and press the loud pedal.
E220CDI's do good MPG and are a cut above a Vegga. Just get one with leather. Resale.

At a risk of someone telling me I don't like any car at all ever, I would avoid the Mondeo 2.0 TDCi personally, as working in the parts trade, they are the most common diesel cars we sell injectors for. They are a major fault.
I think the Saab is the best shout really.
