At the risk of asking a stupid question, why is the bill so large? I know you said that the roof has to come off and i'd imagine that parts aren't cheap, but even more than £40k sounds excessive.

Is 90k not about half the price of it, surprised they repair it, I'd be pushing for a new one.

Yeah, I know labour is expensive but even so, it still seems a bit much. Is there a Ferrari tax on the labour?

If you had a 458 and it got damaged you could just use your Nissan GTR for a daily.

As it was non fault it would be almost like for like.
So they are in a 430 or Aston etc.
It works on older cars too. I would get a 997
Loads of people with e46 m3's get e92 m3's

It does, use of another car removes the need for a hire car and the at fault insurer wouldn't have to pay for it

And the age of yours I doubt you'd be given like for like, you'd end up with a car from the bottom of the sports category, most likely a mini
Here's your hire rates http://apps.abi.org.uk/tphire/SupportingDocuments/GTA%20Car%20rates%20wef%201%20%207%20%2011%20updated%2023%2011%2011%20sent.doc

it removes the need yes, but what if your daily was a zafira or something boring? and the 458 being in that state would take a long time to repair.
so lets say it's summer and your 458 weekend car is in the repair shop. it's 25c outside and you want to go out and pose/drive in your nice 458 but can't. therefore you pimp out in the shitty zafira.
nice one.
