I saw you battling with someone on FB about this after you posted the link...
I have no problem with the methods they used to promote this, I have a problem with the reaction the general public has after watching it.

Most people who've just watched that vid:

The reality is, that is was an extremely well produced video, which triggered emotional effects on the viewers in the way it was shot, the way the message were portrayed and the imagery used.

What I dislike, is the fact that - before someone has watched that vid, they don't know who Kony is and don't really care... then after watching the vid, they act like they're 'in the know' / 'part of the cult' / fighting for justice!

- It's fair enough if someone watches the vid, goes and reads up about the situation and forms a judgement about what is happening, but the reality is - 95% of people I saw on reddit / facebook today, watched the video and just said 'THIS GUY MUST BE FOUND AND KILLED! MAKE IT HAPPEN!'

... or even worse... 'I've just bought my Kony 2012 Braclet <3 - What have you done?'

You lot are spot on about how people react after seeing a 30 minute appeal video. I read this thread before watching the vid so I wasn't affected by it. Had it been the other way around then I may have become involved too! Or maybe I'm not that weak. He does need to be stopped though to be fair. I was aware that this shit went on although I had never heard of this guy.

but seriously, i dont agree with what he does obviously i think he should be stopped, but after watching the video and reading into it a little bit i came across the same info that paul j found, and i dont think that's right either,
cant wait to see the results of the April 20th cover the night campaign though, may even shoot up to the liverpool one to see what happens

Isn't this really just what Blood Diamond showed us?

Still amazes me europeans and americans think they can fix africa despite 2 centuries of evidence we can't.

We should all adopt one of them, they can live with us and do jobs around the house to pay their way...

Africa is massively overpopulated anyway, if they're not killed by some mental guy they'll starve to death or die from disease anyway.
