i paid (moved out in Sept 2011 after buying a place) £250/month and was paying more than anyone else i knew.
my GF paid £100
two friends paid ~£150
while two others i know paid nothing
i wouldnt say £225 is "cheap" by any means for parental accomodation
although in comparison to my £540 mortgage a bargain!

Similar happened to my mate... was paying £200 p/m then when he moved out his parents gave him £200 p/m! Not bad.

It's not that I don't want to live with her as such... I just prefer to be at home

Im in no rush to move out. More than likley would be with the missus but she is in no rush (think due to being lonley child/being a couple of years younger). Gives me time to get debt free and save some
(actually sack that off - ive been going/on 3 forgein holidays this year)

25% of my wage went to my parents when I lived at home. That's a bit steep, however, when I moved out, they bought me a new sofa, carpeted two rooms, and also greatly helped me decorate.

i suppose it's easier to sling your skidmarked pants in the washing bin without having to clean them yourself.

I envy anyone who lives at home AND gets all their shit done for them, from an early age I've had to do all my own washing/ironing, then maybe a few years ago(?) I started buying all my own food and doing all my own cooking.
I do prefer it that way but I can't imagine how skint i'd be after paying tax/electrics/water/rent

Thing is I've tried ironing but I'm crap at it... and people will actually point out how badly ironed my clothes are when I'm out
I do the washing up at the weekends though lol.

I pay nothing. Get washing done, ironing tea made etc. I make the odd cup of tea now and again and empty the dishwasher.
Although I do pay my mums phone bill so £35 a month really
