Apparently Joe Allen the Welsh Swansea player was put as 'English' in the match programme

Yep... but in this instance the Nation is Britain. They are representing Britain and should sing the National anthem of Britain.

I agree with Ben. If they don't want to Sing the British national anthem then they obviously are not there to represent their nation and so shouldn't play. Its team GB not Team ME

I guarantee if Beckham was in the squad he would have been singing it as proudly as he could (yes I know hes not Welsh).

It is an individual's prerogative whether he does or doesn't sing a song ffs

Never got this shite about lack of passion or national pride. They are there to play football not go to war for their country.
