Yes I realise any other sequence has exactly the same chances. That's not what we're talking about here.
We're talking about one set of random numbers and a set in sequence. What's less likely to appear.

It's 1 in 15,890,700. I think. Chances of being struck by lightning 1 in 400,000

i still cant get my head around it, how does a sequence 1,2,3,4,5,6 have any less chance then 5.8.17.3.4.47 coming up for example?

Another thing thats said alot is how come if you have 1 ticket, you have a 14000000/1 chance, but if you buy 2 tickets, you have a 14000000/2 chance, which works out to 7000000/1, so you have halfed your odds.

The numbers 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 cominf out in any order have the same chance of coming out as any other set of 6.

1,2,3,4,5 and 6 coming out in that exact sequence has a dramattically less chance which is now what i think blu was saying.

A 6 digit set has loads of different combinations they can come out in. 1-6 is only one of those.

it has the same chance of that barndoor,

But, the exact order 1 2 3 4 5 6 has alot less chance of coming out than any other set of numbers in any order.

Its simple but some people cant understand it

Imagine you had a bucket of balls and you picked 6 at random. I bet you you'd have to do it loads of times before you got a sequence (in this case 6 consecutive numbers).

You must have missed my post 9 from the bottom.

Okay maybe I was wrong in saying there's a smaller chance of the numbers 1-6 coming out regardless of order, but there is definitely a smaller chance of them coming out in the order 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Not true.

Because there is a sequence there, there is less chance of those numbers appearing. Even less of a chance if they appeared in order like that .
