I wouldn't rule iPhone's out completely as they can produce brilliant footage - like this and this (granted steady hands or tripods tend to be needed).

Ahh no your certainly right bud! Just a. can see alot of random phone footage b. i recon compared to filming on a real hd cam these wont look brilliant! But as you said, sometimes some clips from phones can produce a good output!

If they're used well then like the ones posted they could be used. But I know what you mean someone might upload something that is pixelated as fook. the 4s and 5 produce much better quality footage than the 4 that's for sure

think there needs to be a set quality required for footage being used or the vid is going to be random and a bit shit imo

exactly! Cant really set a fps for it though! I just say hd cams and if the quality is poor from any of them we may just have to rule them out? I know good qualirt from the go pros are quite simply down to the render settings and ive got loads of hd settings with 720p/1080p output from some editing i used to do

this is exactly what im on about, just the right idea in terms of camera angles, movement, quality and most of all steadiness (none of this jerky handheld bollocks)

but also in ours we dont want as much stationary stuff needs to be movement and driving aswell as this

think i need to get a list of specific scenes and then people can shoot one of the options and we edit together the best

Exactly!! Yer would like more moving shots, but things like convoying to shows, strip and track action at shows and then general meets there should be a range of moving shots! and as you said the quality and steadiness is the key factors that make the videos look quality! can just see alot of people sending in phone recorded shakey videos :/

Always loved all the Worthersee style videos - requires a reasonable amount of kit though (although handy if you do already know a few people who have it and are willing to help out / lend it)

That above video I've quoted though is horrendous in terms of the shots etc - the constant rapid transitions and jerking from one angle to another gives you motion sickness

I know its not great i just liked the car Yer alot of kit and skilled persons are put in to them but if there was enough people with some sort of talent with good cameras we could imitate something similar with good editing

Steve and his drone could come on handy.

Flying over the stands at shows, or a proper fly round a car.
