This topic fits in nicely to something I was about to ask about.
A lorry shredded its tyre in front of me back in December, I couldn't avoid it and crashed into it and drove over it which badly damaged my work van ended up having to be recovered. I got all the details of the driver of the lorry from the police who came out to assist.
I contacted my insurance who advised me that they couldn't do anything as I'm only TPFT. But said that I should contact my broker as I had legal cover. After speaking to them I had a quick search on google and found people struggling to win this type of claim as its near impossible to prove negligence and is considered to be an act of god.
After Christmas I got a pack through the post from the solicitor that I was passed over to. There was a section on costs which stated that if I wasn't successful with my claim my insurance would have to cover the costs! I rang them up and they were very vague in answering my questions about it so I haven't signed any of the paperwork. I desperately needed my van on the road asap because I can't work without it. I could see it months only to find that I probably wouldn't be successful so I decided to fix it myself.
Is this likely to go against me when it comes to my renewal?

Of course it is. You've told your insurance company about it so they will have put it on their system.

Had two non fault claims neither increased my premium

I'm not looking forward to my renewal, they've stripped 2 years of NCB from me as I've had a fault and a non fault claim this year

ive had experience of this recently, woman rear ended me at a roundabout. i called my insurance to declare it as none fault and they tried to take my no claims off me, theiving bastards.
