problem with this country is too many people think it's ok to be racist and then say they are not racist.
Leigh Griffith's telling a man with a non english name to go back to his own country is racism. Would he have said it to a white person on the pretence they were from New Zealand? no, he made the comment on assumptions form the guys name.

I thought John Barnes described it all pretty well on talksport this week tbh.

Except for when he said that you can't racially abuse white people because calling them white can never be insulting as we're the subconsciously higher people, and therefore won't be offended by being called white. (or something similar)

Well seeing as the word has been used to racially abuse asians for decades in this country - there is a very good chance they will think your racist/abusive if you call a pakistani a paki.

You might not mean it as a racist taunt .... but then you have not grown up being subjected to racism within this country and having been racially abused with the word 'paki'. Most Asians who grew up in the 70's/80's and 90's will have.

The best idea is to just not use the fucking word - its not that hard is it? The same as its not a good idea to tell someone to 'fuck off back to your own country' on twitter.

Sorry, but who said i used the word paki? I wasnt 100% sure if calling someone from pakistan a paki was racist, but i knew if you called someone who you didnt know where they were born IE india then that would be classified as racist.
