What gets me is, and assuming he has done it -

Why kill her at their home with a gun. Considering he is South African it wouldn't be hard to drive out somewhere or even pay to have her killed. Would probably never find the killer this way.

He is either unstable, the previous domestics may be a hint here, or he didn't mean to do it.

I know of a guy that was in a very similar situation. Dr Richard Kimble.

His wife was murdered by a man with 1 arm. He was on his way to death row and managed to escape from the bus when the other prisoners tried to escape and the bus toppled over. In the end it all came out and he was free'd.

Was in the papers etc. Steve is probably good friends with him.

My theory is she was there from the day before. They get into a heated argument and he guns her down. Then calls the cops and gives some made up story about mistaking her for a burglar, even though he has all sorts of fancy security.

The more that comes out about this the more guilty he seems.

Reports on the radio earlier that he shot her through a bathroom door, apparently in SA you can only claim self defence if there was a definite threat to your life, otherwise it is murder

Just been officially charged in court.
