And there's a reason you can't get insured on it.

And as for your above comment.... My name says it all? What does it say?

Says the bell end asking on a corsa website how to illegally insure his corsa that is slower than the moped he claims to have.

Sorry if my post wasn't offensive enough, I was understating the ramifications deliberately to make the point.

What - the actual truth?

The larger engine alone doesn't make him any more or less likely to crash - if that were the case then you would be campaigning for people not run XE Corsas at all - there are enough of them and to my knowledge no one has any problem with them if they're properly insured.

So far as I can see the grievance here is that the car isn't insured, not the fact its converted.

So far as a conviction for driving without insurance, there would have to not be a policy in force when you crashed and the insurer can't legally withdraw their third party obligations just because the particulars are not accurate.

As I said, they'll pay it out then send you the bill. Which given they wouldn't take you on in the first place means they consider it likely that they'd need to do that.

That doesn't make anyone a good or bad driver, that makes the young people who drive XE Corsas and insure properly them less likely to end up in massive amounts of debt for years to come, and the people who drive XE Corsas insured as 1.2s exposed to such a situation.

Although...

Obviously such people need to be aware of how real that problem actually is. That post doesn't fill me with confidence. A fine wouldn't come close to the total bill.

Go on the internet and search for 'price of a lamppost', don't forget you're paying for a load of people to come and close the road safely, then work safely in safe equipment having pricked about disconnecting stuff to re-wire it, all of those people need sick pay and a pension that you're also contributing towards when you hire their services for the day. The £30k cherry picker is depreciating while its parked there and you'll need to fuel that and the car that the surveyor came in to price the job in the first place.

Oh and don't forget the phone calls back and forward between your insurer and the council, you're paying the wages of both of those office staff for the hour or so in total that they'll spend talking about you. Those offices are quite nice and modern and being heated and lit for those people to be able to be in there on the phone. Probably an IP phone, modern one, joined to a computer network which is maintained by a consultancy company who are paid on a retainer.

Then just hope it didn't hit anyone when you knocked it over, I expect you know how much it costs to heat a hospital. Of course the solicitor that your insurer appointed on your behalf and without your agreement will be dealing with that one, and their offices are even more fancy than the council ones, the solicitor himself is on more money workman who installed the lamppost on double time at the weekend because its on a busy road.

I could go on. You'd probably prefer to just pay the fine.

I think in summary and partly to appease anyone who thought I was going easy on you, don't be a nobhead.

Which leaves your family with the debt.

You'd be better saying yeah you're right, I can't possibly afford any of that and neither can the family I'd leave behind, I'll get proper insurance.

You have two houses to sell? Where are the people going to live once you've sold them?

If none of you belive me about my ped come see it for yourself? Everyone laughs about it till they see it move n exactly andrew i agree insuring it as a 1.2 is stuapid im not gonna lie but i may come across as a chav etc like someone said i fit the stereotype.. Well i dont drink smoke or do drugs never have n never will.. All my attention is on is cars, ever since i was young all ive cared about is cars so you can all think what you like, say your gonna come down or what ever i can garuntee none of you will so grow the fuck up n take a look at yourself and have a think how much of a cock you sound before you think your big over the internet bye
