Is this in reference to the Clyde yards getting ship building contracts in favour of Portsmouth?

Not sure what it's all about as I only managed to catch a snippet of the story at the end of the news the other night.

Same really. I was just trolling the Scottish

James, you are a wicked sod sometimes.

I wouldn't be jumpin for joy over the shipbuilding either, given the debacle of the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers and Trident, we'll move all out shipbuilding to far eastern yards instead. I give shipbuilding in the uk 8-10 years maximum.

No need to spell check that Hammer; I'm using my phone one-handed in the bath whilst washing my hair with the other hand.

I'd prefer Scotland to stay as a whole. This north/south divide is just a joke tbh.

Scottish inventors, sure; everything in the world invented in Scotland......go on then, which inventions?

And don't even think about saying Bell (telephone), Maxwell (electromagnetism/radio) or Baird (if you believe he is sole inventor of TV; which he isn't but....)

My post was in reply to this.

I was keeping it light hearted but you've gone and given 3cm exactly what he wants, he'll be sitting with a joint giggling away at all this shite.

The tone of the replies from some of the englanders suggests they are upset and are becomming more upset as this thread goes on.

I couldn't be less pissed off

Must be difficult neighbouring a country with almost half the population of London contribute more to the World than the whole of England put together. I'd be bitter as well.

The Internet or The Proclaimers. Hmmm....

Either way you do appear to have you panties in a royal bunch today Hammer and seem quite defensive and het up over my comment correcting John*. Which is odd considering i said nothing negative towards Scottish inventors or instigated any form of rivalry between English and Scottish inventors or discoveries prior to your replies.

By all means though, carry on with your odd ramblings - they're interesting to read

* Just to get you up to speed - those three inventors i listed (some would say the most known Scottish inventors), whilst Scottish, gained English educations and invented 'their' inventions outside of Scotland.

not really as impressive when you consider there's a ratio of something like 8 English to 1 Scot

Scots are dirtier. They have to be so they can earn a right to move out of that shithole and get into the prosperous south.
