Bit of a shame... Was really looking forward to this meet and felt I didn't get to speak to everyone that I was hoping to...
We were doing nothing wrong at jarman's - the people who were driving at a bit of speed wern't doing anything crazy, they were well away from public / parked cars and it was controlled - they wern't pulling handbrake turns or anything silly like that!
The fact there was a mass of cars scares the owners. Basically they know they can't do anything apart from call the police. When they told us to leave Jarmans park I didn't mind, it was quite good fun everyone driving in a large convoy out of the car park and to halfords.
The only problem being that the convoy got seriously fucked up and about 6 of us were standing in the halfords car park wondering where everyone else was!
I'd have been happy to have stayed in the halfords car park - but oh no... the police have to ruin the day. There was nothing wrong with the activities at the 2nd location! There wasn't even any loud music being played!
Then when they whipped out that notepad it was like 'Wtf?' - they didn't even warn us that they would do that if we didn't move.
It was a shame as a lot of people decided to go home after that, but the ones who didn't headed off to the mac donalds off the A41. We were there for ages without any hassel at all, until the tail people from the convoy finally made it (along with police following) ...
Sadly the sight of police cars alone made half the people jump in their cars and run. The police did stay for a while, but I think the Mc Donalds owners basically said there was nothing wrong with it as we were all buying drinks and stuff - I'd imagine they wouldn't of had much business otherwise.
As I said bit of a shame as I felt everyone wasn't really in the same mood after it all - didn't really get to speak to everyone either as the people I wanted to convoy back with left a bit early.
Oh well,
Maybe you should look into doing what the copper said and renting out Bovingdon Airstrip? Then everyone can park up... And have drag races and shit (not timed? too expensive) - just get a female member to drop a tissue to signal go
