No, the VTR is better at braking, cornering and generally handles better

I beg to differ

Feel slow... but they are not... pedals are a pain in the arse... when I was driving steve's 106, I dont know how many times I was pushing brake at the same time as the throttle. I also did the same on drew's car lmao.

I dont believe a VTR will do a true 0-60 of 9 seconds as some people at SSC claim, but I reckon 10 is pretty accurate... whats a 1.6 16v corsa? 9.5 ?

0-60 is not a true measurment of speed and acceleration

True, i have no turbo/super/dupercharger, but from 3kRPM right through to 6kRPM is a steady and powerful surge of torque which gives the 1.6 a great 40-90mph time.

bollocks

vtr will keep up with any standard corsa 1.6 16v, the 0-60 figs r the same roughly (both around 9.5 mark) saxo has slightly higher power to weight ratio

i find that its mainly corsa 1.0, and 1.2 owners that hate saxos so much mainly because their own cars are crap and slow.

the saxos offer good value for money in terms of performance, their 1.4 and 1.6 8v engines perform well with good levels of torque, and the 16v vts engine is a full on screamer. they handle much better than any corsa with the rear torsion bar setup.
so the build quality cant quite match the corsa's but id sooner have a saxo vtr-vts over any corsa personally.

which is why, for my next car, i will be gettin the saxo's twin car: the pug 106 gti

Its true though.... I do not feel safe in a corsa at speed or cornering fast.

I remember when I got my sport... 165 skinny rubber, as high as a sky scraper. I spun it in the wet soo many times. My fiesta felt safer... and this was suposed to be a RE-WORKED suspension from pre 97 models. Ive also driven pre 97's .. even worse!

VTR anyday over a corsa GSi

Euroncap test results- (out of 5 stars)

Vauxhall/Opel Corsa

1996 - 2 stars (1.2 LS)
1999 - 3 stars (1.0 12v club)
2002 - 4 stars

Citroen Saxo

2000 - 2 stars (1.1 SX)

U would be safer in a post 97 corsa than ur saxo.

1996 Rover 100 only got 1 star
