Nothing much to update as of yet. Got the air tank and compressor sprayed up. Decided i'm going to try and incorporate the compressor into the build because it looks acceptable now it's painted. I think im leaning towards having the compressor mounted in one of the side panels in the boot and have the tank in full view. Other than that im just waiting for a time where i'll be able to get the rear beam cut and welded to accommodate the rear bags/mounts. Need to try and fab up a face plate to go in place of the head unit to mount the switches and gauge too. That's about it i spose.

Right, figured i'd take some pictures today of what i've got so far with the boot build. Excuse the shitty phone pics but it was getting fairly dark but I'll let the pictures do the talking.
So i sprayed up my tank and compressor a while back, decided i'd go with a theme i'm quite liking with my car at the minute.
Also got some progress with the actual boot floor, cutting the door out for access to the spare. Ended up drilling the corners of the octagon shape and running the jigsaw along the straights. I used a small enough drill bit that was just enough to get the jigsaw blade in, doubt the holes will be that noticeable once it's trimmed up.
As you can see, plenty of space for access to the spare, can also store things on top of the wheel too.
So i decided to try and go about starting to mount things up. I traced around the lower wooden frame on top so i knew where open space would be to put bolts through the mdf without interfering with the frame. Also got some nut/bolt/washer stuff for the tank and compressor.
After playing around with positions for a bit, i decided that i wanted the tank to be to the passenger side of the boot, in the space between the framework, as it fitted here perfectly. So drilled holes and bolted it all up.
I'm still unsure of where to position the compressor, thinking of trying to incorporate it into the side panel of the boot somehow but it just doesn't look like there's enough space/decent mounting area for it to go there.
I quite like having it right next to the tank now it's all painted up, looks a lot better than it did plain. Although i'm not sure if this would make routing air line from the compressor to the tank harder due to the curve it would be in.
I'm 99% sure of the tank position, unless i can figure out a really trick way to place it somewhere. Once i've decided on the compressor placement i can start routing air line. Still need to re-locate my head unit to the glove box, but that should be easy enough. Also need to decide what material to trim the boot floor in.

Lil update, got my false floor/boot install trimmed up today, pretty happy with it considering it's the first time ever doing something like this. As always i'll let the quick snaps do the talking.
The plan is that the wiring for the compressor will be easily tucked away along the side panel so should be pretty damn clean and tidy. I'll be trimming up some carpet for the sides of the boot to replace the shitty grey stuff that's there at the minute, and trimming up a piece to go at the rear of the boot so hopefully you won't be able to see any shitty metal or wiring, it will all be neat and tucked away . That's all for now folks, i'll get some decent pics of the boot when it's in the car too.

WOuld love to have one oif these for my 5 door, tried to make one a couple of times, but always look crap. This looks top notch!
