They were talking about this jugs at the end of the Sky show. It's a new rule this year that you get the 5 second penalty and the grid penalty which apparently all the teams agreed with

Personally think the 5 second penalty is fair and then they should take all the team points from that driver for the race then the team get penalised as it's more often than not a team problem not the driver going before being released

Lewis on top in FP1 & 2, good start

Thought this was interesting

That was post Malaysia since then:

Power unit changes:
New ICE for VET/RIC/VER/KVY/CHI/BIA
New TC and MGU-H for CHI/BIA
New MGU-K for VET
New ES for SUT
New CE for ERI/SUT

So quite a few already working their way through the 5 items they get of each a season. Obviously they can use some of the old ones again if they arent broken but you would probably want to make them last as long as possible.

Adrian sutil won't be using a drinks bottle this weekend as the car+driver together are overweight, and have been since the 1st race.

I can't see that ending well. May be ok at Silverstone, but no chance in the middle of a desert

Facinating to hear whatthe reasons are behind the Mercedes advantages. Such a simple idea, I wonder if its the Brawn legacy coming to fruition.

First event I'm managing to watch live this year, which is nice.

Those Mercedes pair are fast. Impressive that they can pull the large time advantages with seemingly less effort behind them than the other teams. Was the same in Practice too. They definitely seem to be reaping the benefits of a good 2-3 years of development ready for this year!

Will be good to see either of their drivers win WDC too - Nico performed well last year too, so would actually be quite the deserving winner if he can get it in 2014 IMO.

Hot Compressor? at the front of the engine, turbine at the rear, meaning gearbox sits closer to the engine for a narrower rear end and better weight distribution.

smaller package as intercoolers can be smaller. They showed a comparison between the back of the Merc and Ferarri and its soo much thinner.
They have even built a couple of pokey out bits in the bodywork to make sure they meet the standards.

Williams/Mclaren have the same engine but only found out when they signed the deal about the setupand by then they had already designed their chassis etc so could not make the most of it this time round.

The rosberg vs hamilton fight is the only thing I lool foreard to now.

It is nice to see 2 drivers in the same car battling eachother, unlike webber who was pretty shite compared to vettel.

Dunno why Mark Hughes is claiming an exclusive, Scarbs spotted the split turbo design back in Melbourne!

Disappointed Lewis couldnt get pole, but this is a strong track for Nico, should be a fascinating battle. I can see this becoming a proper Senna/Prost at Mclaren type season.

Love the gap to the rest of the field, total domination

But is this domination good? Vettel seemed to be universally hated for dominating and almost ruined the sport entirely.

Mercedes seem to be a well liked team for neutrals and rosberg doesn't appear to have any ''haterz'', whereas lewis has the whole anti black brigade cursing him at every opportunity.

I'd ideally like all the other Mercedes engined teams to catch up and the Ferrari/Renault teams to have the shittest season ever.
