gav canyou imagine jambo if i did that. he'd throw an OEM fit

harris, cheers. that's exactly how i feel with the 3/4 plate tbh. i may just mount it using velcro so can remove it to take pics. it does spoil the front end as it looks so big on a relatively small car.

were the badges ok in quality?

that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but I just prefer them, that's all.

I did the same on all my fords. the badge was blue and I bought black overlays. Once the calipers are repainted black/grey/silver, the whole car will be dark in colour apart from the rear lights, which is what I want.

Yea they were ok, have only got my front fitted at the moment but I was surprised at the quality of mine.
I've, got my plate on Velcro at the moment but I've of a number plate on mine so have to unscrew that so was thinking of having a small plate with no mount.

I've never noticed before but the BMW badge is shit , no thought at all put into it, looks like something that would be more suited to a Datsun

Carbon fibre badges are an improvement imo, sort of takes the boringness away.

It's meant to look like a propellor turning or something isn't it?

I've done this with my plate on the bm. Looks much better than anything else. I cut the plate myself and gave it a quick file down and they look perfect. It's a 6 digit plate aswell and is the perfect size, will be a much better option thatn a 3/4 plate and legal.

i may try and cut my standard one down a bit. i have a spare one if it goes wrong anyway.

badges are here. quality is good, although the carbon fibre weave doesn't follow the same pattern on every badge not a big deal, but it may annoy me.

grrr, removed the old badge on the front bumper to find out that it was only held on with double sided tape, rather than nuts from the underside.

will have to go and buy some more padded tape now to fit the carbon one.

the badges:

i also set about removing the front reg plate and having a go at cutting it down. unfortunately it cracked a bit and it still needs smoothing down with a file.

will most likely end up buying a new smaller one, but i like the front end with no plate on:

cut down plate:

i know it's rough. it's just a test to see how it looked. i have a spare original plate to go back on.
