wow, new part arrived. hopefully the cure. seems most likely seen as everything else still works.

grand. also ordered a new flywheel and some arp bolts for it. oh, and while box is off ordered a crankshaft oil seal as it drops a tiny tiny spot of oil if you leave it sitting for a few hours. but becuase i park the car virtually in the same place all the time, it looks worse than it is and annoys me a lot.

vauxhalls and oil leaks is like vtec and the wasp noise. annoyingly go together quite often.

aye by about 1.5kg

but most importantly it has integeral ring gear. which i can assure you means id never buy an alloy flywheel again.

tonights highly exciting update features the following

arp flywheel bolts. i was still on gm ones. how silly am i?

crankshaft oil seal for gearbox side, seen as this is where its been narrowed down to as to where the tiny drip of oil is coming from. be rude not to change it seen as box is out.

billet flywheel off that vxlgsi fella on migweb. top notch i say indeed. ordered monday night, arrived this morning. it has integral ring gear which is really important, as with my current one being alloy, it has steel ring gear. different heat properties of the metals have meant in the 5 years ive had that flywheel, the alloy has expanded, been crushed by the ring gear a bit, then shrinks. so when its cold it rattles a bit. which is the ring gear as its able to move on the flywheel. generally speaking that could have been completely lethal if it had gone wrong. time for a change.

hopefully going to get the box off on saturday after work.
