Tyre to tyre wasn't it? Well mostly anyway, I think the tyre contact flipped him with the rotation.

+1 - Definitely looks like the flip was at least initiated by Tyre-Tyre contact more than Nose contact.

This is true. Should be another tight battle mind, both have gone well there in the past.

Wow. Just finished watching and i'm drained!

Lewis Hamilton is ruthless and simply unreal. What a drive!

Maldonado is the biggest cunt to ever drive an f1 car. He's lucky gutierrez wasn't injured.

Maldonado given a 5 Position Grid Penalty & 3 Points on the Super Licence for the incident.

Laughable punishment, should have been more significant for that.

Why? It was a crash that was only bad because the car flipped over.

Other than the points, look at the Penalty Ricciardo received for something he DIDN'T cause last week.

'Only' flipped over? How common is that in F1? Not very. It was a pretty significant incident.

It was clumsy. At this level, that crash shouldn't be happening, he saw the Sauber but just lunged into the corner far too fast. Hes fast Maldonaldo but jesus, the boy cannot race close quarters. If Grosjean got a ban for several incidents, then its about time he got one too.

He didn't intentionally make the car flip over though, did he? It was just unfortunate that the wheels collided.

He caused a collision, which is what the rule book would give the penalty points for.

As much as i'd like to see him banned, you can't go given people different amounts of points depending on how bad the cars ended up after the collision.

Don't know what was harder to watch, that or brazil 2008 , was almost certain it was going to end in tears. Stunning job from hamilton to keep rosberg behind after the safety car.

Hopefully we see more races like this, still don't know what to make of all the new rules and regulations, getting used to it but still not sold

well not quite - they agree to look into it - two very different statements

For any change to be approve its going to need the agreement of all the teams so they are going to make sure that any change does not compromise any advantage they might have.

Took me about an hour of listening to get used to the sound. I love that it's quieter, hearing the tyres squeal on lock up and understeer, hearing the crowd cheer (sounded ace when Lewis crossed the line in Bahrain), the turbo whistle..

Be disappointed if they ramp it up and it drowns all that out. They still sound awesome imo.

Obviously the big court case today, the FIA cannot afford to lose it, opens up a big can of worms if they do.

Also reports coming out of Italy claiming that Stefano Domenicali has been sacked by Ferrari.

Well someone had to bend over and take it.

Lets hope they can improve greatly and give Merc a challenge later in the season.
