They clearly could not rape one std for std...simple!!

but on another scale i spent £700 on a engine, my dads mate son (whos car was in last months fast ford) spent £3000 on throttle bodies, cams, pistons etc etc etc and produced a lower power figure than mine, and i had 200cc less

read std for std they are the same.....we have pointed out a few things including tunablilty etc so its not like its not a balance argument even brought nt comparison with other rivals

IMO the Zetec S will always be poor compared to the rivals

Yes but you will have a high possibility of having a std Zetec-S there and a std 1.4 Sport there will you not??

Also the other races will be good fun...

Stop digging a hole dude. A Corsa Sport 1.6 will beat a Zetec S down the strip. However, put them both on the track and i suspect the Zetec would have it in the bag.

as sport16v has said many times, I KNOW ITS NOT THE FASTEST THING AROUND.

If i wanted a hot hatch a 106 gti/172 will be on the top of my list but being 20 years old with no ncb im goin to have to settle with a zetec s for a year or 2 build my NCB up then get a 172.

I know their nice looking cars, except the interior is really putting me off.
All i wanted to know is that if they are decent cars, good handling, realiable etc....

Still deciding wether to keep my corsa for another 2 years and then get a 172 or say bugger it and take the risk and get a zetec s.

Im happy with my corsa, its just ive been driving a 1.2 16v since ive past my test and i keep thinking i must have a quite nippy car before i get old

To be honest im more on the side of keeping my corsa, due to the fact that i dont like anything else out there for insurance group 6-8 with decent performance handling realiablity and a good looking car.

i was thinkin of changing my 1.4 sport for a zetec-s a while back. decided against it. i might as well stick with what i know and then get something faster when i can afford the insurance

not if you look at the performace times of the two in performance ford, both mk4 fiestas, both with standar engines, 1/4 mile and 0-60 are shocking

Handling as standard is quite good, but the Corsa Sport 1.6 16v has 6bhp more power.

Has the same throaty induction roar as the X16XE with a cone filter though.

Oh and yes I did drive one once upon a time.

My bro has a N reg 107,000 mile Rover 214si nither the ford 1.6 or the VTS can stick with it given the difference in age and power difference this is piss poor considering these cars are over 5G`s each and he paid 400 quid for the rover. But the Clio Cup gave Him a Pasting 2 or 3 times when he tryed to race them. but dont get me wrong the rover looks nasty handles naty and has shocking small brakes that dont work over 30mph, and also i will add the rover is significantly faster then our old 1.8 mondeo

I sold my Clio Cup last week in order to save money so I could buy a bigger house. On Sunday I picked up a Zetec-S and I'm very happy with it, it nowhere near as fast as the Cup obviously, but it handles well and my insurance has gone from £960 down to £365, so I'm more than happy with it.
