It doesssssss... thos emingin bug eyes and nasty grille... i dont like the shape of the 3 dr astras in general hence y it doesnt appeal to me :S

the latest GTO has new extractors, and at full throttle it sounds like an old warplane, kind of like a huge menacing bass sound that you can feel in your gut.

If you are basing your opinion on the exterior then IMHO the golf is the ugly hatch out of the two. Its slowly got worse over the years, MK1 being the best looker...

The same can be said for the Astra, but the MK5 VXR is a real head turner compared to the MK4 GSi... the looks have been dramatically improved (again IMO!)

the golf GTI just goes un-noticed on the roads...

Different characters all together these two, the golf was probably styled to go un-noticed I guess

I'm affraid I agree the astra is more my type of car the golf is a bit bland looking.

4got to say, they had a monaro as a pace/safety car for the btcc last weekend it did sound very nice, the bloke was hammering it, shame about the new m5 being driven very conservatively considering it was leading some fast cars out )

I'd still love an E46 M3, I could scrape buying one but the running would be too much with the repayments as well
