Thats why there is such a stigma about modified cars and the boy racer image.

Admittedly (sp) my 1st ill spelt comment was some what tittish but hey!

OK fair enough, but your telling me if some little chav pulled up next to you, with his 14 year old bird next to him and his mates in the back, revving, giving you the finger etc AND his lane merges into yours in about 100 yards you wouldnt at least match his speed? If the answer is yes, then you are 'racing' I know I probably wouldnt be able to resist altho I rarely get that sort of stuff in my car, they usually just pull up behind.

Another fair comment but the people who are discussing their Zetec-S's and Corsa Sports also share the enthusiasm for cars that you and I do. Insurance costs these days for younger drivers means they dont have the luxury of being able to run faster cars, just cos you drive a bigger and slightly faster car it doesnt make you better in any way! I stsrted life in a 1.3 escort FFS!

Yes but there has always been that stigma, even when my dad was building and tuning minis in the 70's. Its nothing new, you just notice it now cos you are in that scene. Everyone at 17/18 is the same, I know I was, it will never change!

The fact that you came on here looking for an argument calling everyone a tit was somewhat 'tittish' There is always someone with more knowledge and with a faster car than you matey!

Stu, well said

I wouldnt regard a Vectra as anything special, 200bhp isnt anything to write home about, considering there are far smaller cars these days pushing the 200bhp envelope. Clio 182 for example
Personally i thought my Sport 1.6 was a great little car. Nice interior, never failed on me once, and had good performance. cant argue at that. Not saying that Vectras are crap, they are just average in a world full of super saloons.

Cheers pal!

Thats it! The Vectra is an ok car and 200bhp is also pretty good, but there is always someone bigger and faster!

200bhp is regarded as piss poor here in auz. Holdens top V6 pumps out 190kW, thats about 260bhp, N/A. V8 Commodores are pushing 410bhp straight from the factory.
Although i must say that i love Vectra Super Touring.

£4k you cant go wrong really
