They have a good amount of torque for an N/A 2 litre Car, IIRC as much as a 2 litre redtop lump has but just more BHP, so I duno what you're on aboiut.

So, just to clarify you raced (or as Ian put it, did 'runs') with a CTR four times on a public road?

Why does nobody believe him.

CTR's aren't all that. 2.0 Corsa will be more than a match in a straight line

I don't think it's a case of believing the fact that a X20XEV can't beat a CTR it's more a case of people not believing what he says is true.

yeah the torque is shocking, and the thought of having to drive it like a bastard all the time to get it to move its fat ass is not very appealing at all.

VTEC is overhyped, and now even i-VTEC is old technology compared to that of other manufacturers.

well I have raced my mate in a CTR and I couldn't leave him it was level all the way to about 100 then I pulled away

My mate is running 270 in his S3 and he can pull away from the CTR but I wouldn't say he left him for dead so I struggle to see how a 140 BHP corsa can beat a CTR

They are NO match for LET corsas.

Seriously it was like he was going backwards. And that was with more tan one on more than one occasion.

I can beleive that a corsa with less power would beat one, ian is notrelated to corsa.v6 so i have no reason to doubt him.
If an LET makes them look like they are going backwards then it wouldnt be that hard to beat them if you had less power.

P.S Ry_b ALL cars have powerbands, not just vtecs. In a straight line i fail to see how he couldnt drive it properly.

Nothing wrong with the XEV, we have one in an Astra mk3, just a little 4 brancher and decat system, and nothing beat it yet, alto saxo/106gti do handle alot better on inner city roads. And everyone who driven the car say it pulls as well if not better than the old c20let caliy turbo we had at the bottom end!!. And far out paces both the vectra SRi150 and current is200 no worrys

Changing up gear too early, not changing down a gear but waiting to reach VTEC in the gear you are already in.

Well done with another pointless post Ry-B,

that goes the same for anycar! change up before you run out of puff. Its not difficult to drive in a straight line and if he hadnt reached the magical almighty untouchable awe-inspiring v-tec and changed early he wouldnt have lost by a car length it would have been a mile.

They arent as fast as you think.

Surely a CTR owner would know all about VTEC so wouldn't be changing up early anyway

i agree Jambo, CT-R are alovely car but people who buy them just dont know who they should be driven, Am i right in thinking the V-tec range is high up RPm gauge?? so this would mean you would need to hold them in gear longer than say a standard 2ltr car??
