I wouldn't say either looked dated to be honest, and I prefer them both to their respective replacements.

From the back I feel the astra is showing its age
It personal choice - you need to drive both
I never liked TT's until I drove one and that changed my mind

What in the name of god are you talking about? This is the biggest most ridiculous statement I have ever heard.
Interior is awful? You fcuking moron the seats are Recaro the same as what is found in the S3 and far far far from looking cheap, infact I would say its one of the best things about the car.
As for looked dated granted I will accept that the LCR does look newer but nigger please, the GSi does not look dated.

I meant in terms of the dash. it has corsa vents etc. The seats are lovely but dials and actaul dash plastics are far from up to standard again only IMO

its not because its the overall feel of teh car and its appearance
thats why Seats are so popular because they are in the VAG group so standard of trim is better
Everyone on here states Jap cars have a horrible interior very poor plastics etc so whats the difference here

There's clearly not much to separate the cars, it might come down to what is out there when you go looking. If you find a nice example of either at the price then go for that.
You do of course need to drive both.

I will drive both when the time comes.
And I think you are right, it will be down to what's around at the time.

I spent ages looking for the right replacement for my SRi C.
I looked at the Astra, they are lovely cars but an LCR came up at the right price, age, mileage and got a decent p/x.
Just down to preference m8. They are both nice cars.

TBF i like the mk4 astra GSIs, but the leon is all round far better, better built, faster, better brakes etc etc
Realibility? Vauxhall, anything VAG will break in my experience and will be expensive to fix.
Stereotype if ever I heard one.
Had my VAG Ibiza for 14 months now, and i've spent £35 on it (exc. tyres and pads). Passed its MOT first time, had no recommendations on last years 40k service either.

My Dad had a Golf 1.8T for 3 years, in that time the only problem was a failing fuel filter. Hes on his 3rd VW now.
I had my Corsa 1 year and never had a problem. There was never a problem with his C reg Cavilier 2.0 when it went round Europe twice in 1986 either.
All down to the individual car imo.
