intresting how my calculator makes that 180bhp/ton, and yours seemed to make it 10bhp/ton more than that...

It probably depends on the accuracy and the callobration of the calculator!!!!!!

how do you work out bhp/tonne?

coz i did 170 / 0.9 = 188.8

288 / 1.265 = 227

185 actually and using 230bhp and 1265kgs

and i had it weighed with the spare wheel and jack etc which weighs about 30kgs so i deducted that as that is now out the car.

power to weigh is calculated by this equation -

Power / weight x 1000 (metric ton)

228 / 1265 x 1000 = 180.2371541501967284584980237512bhp

seems closer to 180 than 190 to me...

that calculations not quite right robin, this os the correct calc for bhp/ton

(power/(weight*0.0009842)*100)/100

my calculation is based on imperial tonnes

1 kilogram = 0.000984206528 imperial tons

i guess niether is incorrect

just what you want your end answer in i suppose

Correct Steve, neither are technically incorrect, but it is widely accepted that bhp/ton is measured metrically unless you are American.

yes, but if they're both done using metric measurements, chris's GT has 0.7bhp per tonne more. which is neither here nor there.
