we aren't the only country in world to have road charging / tolls.
many others have, not all using in car boxes, but some do. Most just toll roads.
also the comment about us controlling the government isn't exactly correct.

yes instead of charging road tax. France uses tolls to pay for the perfect miles of road etc
i want to live in france

Labour can fuck off. £400 for tax not too on powerful cars, at this rate millions will be going bankrupt. You can't even have a wank without being fined now.

they can stick one on my clio cus i only drive it at weekends, but id still rip it off,
bit like jap cars beeing limited in speed, everyone just re-sets the speed limiter
Love to see them fit one on my little 125 motorcross bike i use to get to work (50 miles a day) it can barley power the headlight, let alone some snazzy eltronic box of wank

I really can't see this taking off. Surely theres a human rights/privacy law about things like this?

WOW 100 miles free!!! aren't the gov generous cunts If you use your car on your private land does this also count let them try it but i'm sure it wont happen. How many people are going to be willing to pay £200 for the gov to fit big brother into your car. On the upside there won't be any traffic police on the road if this black box is fitted

I was thinking this morning, why dont the large tax costs we pay on petrol go toward paying the public transport companies and make buses free of charge. Surely that would encourage more people to use them?

Even if buses are free, i'd take my car everywhere.

Haha same, they are trying to encourage people onto public transport though, but that costs enough anyway, and the state of buses round here is terrible I cant see why anyone would want to pay to get on one of them.

people saying they wont do it. it won't work etc, it does and is working in some countries, singapore is a good example, its not nice, i don't like it, but if it comes in there will be no choice, either accept it, or don't drive.

they cut my village bus service to 2 a day, 1 at 7.30 and 1 at lunchtime.
My tax/council tax has gone up to encourage me to use the buses

Your right they aretrying to encourage people to get on busses, but have you ever tried getting onto a bus to at rush hour? most are packed out so dont bother stopping at bus stops not to mention they are filthy and you will end up sitting next to some smelly badger / pickpocket... Would rather walk to be honest

More people breaking the law - more fines and money for the government - lots of angry drivers - i really cant see it going down well

Even if they impose stupid high taxes and prices on running a car, i'd still have a car.
Regardless of what people say, i know a majority will moan and complain but, will still drive a car also.

Tell me how to get a bus for 20 miles.
Train? not from our place to Donnas work.
Bus? Yeah, right... Maybe 6-7 of the bugger, just to get there (by which time your covered in piss from the friday night chavolar sessions), which you've paid £68.92 to have the pleasure.
Catch public transport? I'd rather pull every single one of my pubes out with a pair of tweezers thanks.

also they are trying to introduce congestion charging or whatever it is in manchester, to be honest i dont know how they can rationalise it, why should you pay a premium when you ahev already payed to drive on tehse roads with your annual road tax? - also do you get charged the congestion charge at night when theres no traffic?
