As PICK4D told me though, a LET off the lights, you won't get any speed up until 4th gear. That's about 100mph or so, people who race will have backed off by then

XE is far more reliable it seems too.

Plus insurance is going to be alot lot more on an LET and also finding the actual engine may also be harder / more expensive.

Oh behave. It's fairly common knowledge that turbo power through FWD is gonna have shit traction off the lights.

traction is shit in any car if you dont address it.

A FWD 300bhp Corsa B can have good traction. Right suspension, diff, tyres.

It's going to be hopeless on a set of chav spec GMAX dampers, 6" wide nankangs and std F20 open diff.

My last version of my corsa had no major problems with traction... it spun a bit launching at 5k rpm... but soon gripped.

210bhp, 190lbft

I had good tyres but crap suspension (cheap bilstiens) and an f20. Mine didnt suffer with much traction loss, 2nd could be lethal but learnt how to ease the power in!

what suspension did u run ak?

honestly this place does my head in.....

to be fair, 0-60 in 7 secs isn't really worth the conversion price, a Saxo VTS does it in 7.7secs. Even the LET conversion in 6 - 6.5 secs, a FWD drive corsa with an XE or LET engine is going to struggle for traction off the line

You want fast 0-60 then go Jap and turbo.

Say that to the Skyline owner owned by a Nova at Coombe.

Vidds on google....

0-60 is no way to find a cars performance.

XE corsas are FUN, but not fast. Not even my bike is fast, but would oblitorate my XE corsa (esp at the moment). Mind you, I wouldn't call the Astra "fast" either. Corsa and the Astra fall into a "nippy" category for me

I know of a few Corsas and Novas that made 60mph in under 5 seconds on datron gear...

OK they have TB, or turbos, but the simple fact is, they do. You expect an MR2 to be fast (but usually find they arn't, as we never got Turbos in the UK, only the imports, so usually expect a 2.0 16v, which is slow).

Having a pocket rocket and owning some much higher spec faster car brings a smile to your face.

Although that said, being slightly slower, but much comfier, is more appealing and far cooler Just being the underdog feels good.

Edit, on another note, I cain Donnas LET off the line, but byt the time we're into 2nd, shes already drawing back, and by 3rd, shes gone past and already throwing snotty tissues at me.
