Than a standard JDM STi or the V5 Type R? The P1 is a watered down version of the Type R so why would it be quieter? I agree it is a ridiculously quick and great looking car. But a Supercar it is not.

A Supercar doesn't have to be under 5 seconds to 60 either. Think of the motors such as the Lamborghini Muira. One of the most legendary cars on Earth, and I'm pretty damn positive that wasn't reaching 60 in under 5 seconds.

1. supercar 20 up, 4 down

A supercar is a term used for a sports car, typically an exotic or rare one, whose performance is highly superior to its contemporary sports cars. The proper application of this term is subjective and disputed, especially among enthusiasts. In addition, the use of the term is dependent on the era; a vehicle that is considered to be a supercar at one time may not retain its superiority in the future. Nonetheless, the automotive press frequently calls new exotic cars "supercars".

Bugatti Veyron
Koenigsegg CCX
Pagani Zonda F
Enzo Ferrari (F60)
Porsche Carerra GT
Mercedes McLaren SLR

These are probably the six most undisputed supercars at the time of this entry.

Tuned up sports cars are not supercars. They will fuck out quickly because they have the lifespan of a house-fly.

NSX or similar are not supercars. There is no such thing as a cut price supercar.

To qualify, modern supercars would have to be around the 200mph mark. As you may notice, this does not automatically include all ferrari's. The 166 inter struggled to make 100mph.

A supercar is something that few people will ever drive, and fewer will even own. Basically, unless it smokes practically everything that isn't tuned to fuck, it's good.

A supercar is a car that combines speed, handling, unique design and represents the pinnacle of the automaker's art. Supercar is the car equivalent of a supermodel or a race horse. There are, off course, some basic criteria for measuring whether a car should be considered a supercar or not. Things to consider: design, acceleration, top speed, handling, power-to-weight ratio, style, rarity, price - all of these has to be super in a supercar.

Want an example? Here is a prime example of a supercar - The Bugatti Veyron.

The Bugatti Veyron is currently (2007) the most expensive (around $1.5 million) and fastest fully street legal car in the world. The Guinness Book of World Records included Bugatti Veyron under the heading - Fastest Production Car. With 1001 horsepower this supercar champion features all the most recent automotive advancements and is able to achieve a top speed of 253 mph (407km/h). This is faster than any production car ever made, it's actually faster than Formula 1 cars. Supercars are not just fast, they are blazingly fast.

Other supercars include: Koenigsegg CCX, Pagani Zonda, McLaren F1, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, Enzo Ferrari, Lamborghini Murcielago and so on.

On the fun side, if you ever doubt whether a car is a supercar or not, consider this: A car might be a supercar if - you have a wallpaper or a poster of it, it's worth more than your house, you drool when you see one, it can break the speed limit in 1st gear, you will probably never own one, but if you do, you would never give the keys to the valet.

it doesnt have a unique design, its the same design with bits stuck on.

it has the speed and handling, its debatable, some would say a supercar should go at least 200mph

its an impreza, impeza's aren't rare, regardless of what edition it may be.

a supercar should be unique and rare in its model, not special edition

It does indeed but as I said... It's a watered down version of the V5 Type R! The Type R isn't seen as "rare" though. And there have been editions of super mini's that have had 1000 made, but that doesn't make them rare Hell the 22b had 300 made, so did the RB5 and Terzo IIRC but they aren't called Supercars.

you cant compare special editions of one model to just another model

ie a lambo gallardo is rarer than an impreza

a lambo gallardo superlegerra is rarer then an impreza p1 etc etc
