Wrong video's eck, I was refering to the vids on page 1, of whitte vs a gti and the original 106 gti vs corsa Gsi.
I was corrected by Steve and apologised

Sorry bud
Look you muppets, you wanna see a 106 gti vid?
Here's a vid of my 106 gti on track
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fmxP5iaD0s
It's keeping up with a escort RS, does that mean it's as quick as one? no... That's where the difference of how it's driven come into affect!
Right near the start of that vid there's a black proper track spec'd up 182 cup! with coil overs, massive brakes and everything... just so happens the driver was driving it slower than a jerriatric... Does that make the gti faster than the 182 no? ... but on track it is?
You see what I'm saying... The car is only part of the equation. Like those original vids posted by the dude in this thread of Corsa Gsi's beating Gti's... It's just the crap driver letting the car down...

I agree whole heartedly that like for like, a Corsa GSi/Sport has no chance, in any department actually, against a 106 GTi/Saxo VTS. I just love getting involved in these threads

If i had the choice of a Nova or a 106 with exactly the same spec as each other. handling, braking, acceleration, top speed.
I'd have the nova without a doubt.
IMO

Paul, very impressed with your on board video, especially at 1:55 when you overtake Harry potter in his flying car!

always makes me laugh that the 106 gets such a good write up and the saxo gets a bad one just because of people driving the vtr's with free insurance and being chavs, ive had both a mk 1 and 2 saxo vts the later being heavy tunned and always thought that that for price they are now its hard to have this much fun for cheaper and that the 106 is over priced by comparison

Plus, what's the point your trying to make Mike? ... If I had a ferrari I'd hand your arse to you...
Refer back to my post, of what cars should be comparable.
106 Gti should be compared with Corsa Gsi, Nova Gsi, 205 Gti, Punto GT, etc
These are the 106 gti's actual competitors, similar performance and class... Your Z20LET powered car is in a class of 'Barges that go fast in a straight line but struggle at the bends' - go look for a thread relative to that, to post you beat something on.

These were, Corsa 1.6 Gsi, Saxo VTS , Golf Gti / Vr6, and punto gt.

Is it fly fishing? It's not really hard to catch them really, as their cars are permanently broken.
