It also increases the risk of being injured/maimed/killed in a low speed collision.
But hey, they look REALLY cool and very shiney AND they make your car look almost exactly like a rally car or touring car, relatively inexpensively.
Much like LED washer jet cowels/underbody lighting, fibre glass bodykits, ugly alloy wheels that are far too big, hideous lights from other cars or pretending to be from other cars and far too much stereo equipment, these are things that some people believe a car is incomplete without.
If you don't understand why, you never will.
Just count yourself lucky that you don't.

Insurance companies must just laugh and slam the phone down when on asking if the vehicle is modified in any way the reply is, yes, lots of potentially fatal, substandard and barely secured metal tubing has half-arsedly been attached to the interior of the vehicle.

There are people who claim not havin a seatbelt on saved them, thats not the norm though.
I bet the people with these show cages would slag big kitted corsas off, a show cage is just as bad if not worse.

if your driving properly on the roads then you shouldnt need a cage unless your very unlucky and become entangled in non-forseeable accidents.
if your on a track then different story altogether!

what wrong with someone having a show cage if they want one?
its their money, they can do what they want with it.
body kits look shit on small cars, but people still do it.
super loud exhausts are shit on any car below a 2.0l but people still do it as well.

Anybody who knows about cars knows it's stupid, anybody who doesn't I can't think what you'd say to them?
Not many people think some poles attached to your seatbelts look good.

It shows a commitment to spending money on their cars.
They're normally painted or chromed too, which is pretty

a roll cage generally means the car is fast and has a decent engine in it.
i know whenever i see a car with a roll cage drive past i wonder what engine it has...
only problem i have with show cages are proper roll cages arn't that much more expensive, why not get a proper one?

a roll cage does yes, a show cage on the other hand shows the driver is behind the wheel of a flymo, and has a small penis
